In 2009 the band released their second album, the SAMA-nominated "Heuningland". Last year November "Heuningland" fever hit SA with a bang, with five tracks from the album playlisted on RSG, a number of television appearances and a 2010 SAMA-nomination in the category Best Adult Contemporary Album: Afrikaans.

Kalahari Orkes's "Heuningland" has also been nominated for a Huisgenoot Tempo Award in the "Kopskuif" category.
Fans of die Orkes can also look forward to a Radio Kalahari Orkes documentary shot at Oppikoppi.Sexy.Crooked.Teeth festival in August, where the band also performed to a 6000-strong crowd. The documentary follows the group from their backwater studio deep in the Kalahari. Encouraged by journalist, Rian Malan, the band decide to accept an invitation to Oppikoppi. Many hilarious pitfalls, problems and arguments later, they finally hit the road for the greatest adventure of their career. Penned by Dan Roberts and filled with laughter and poignancy, this documentary covers the breadth of South Africa and features cameos by variety of celebrities, including Jack Parow.
