    Red Carnation staff shines at international staff appreciation awards

    Twenty staff members from The Twelve Apostles Hotel and Spa in Cape Town and five from the Bushmans Kloof Wilderness Reserve & Wellness Retreat in the Cederberg travelled abroad to London this past for the glamorous Red Carnation Hotel Collection Staff Appreciation Awards - with 14 returning as the ultimate winners!
    Red Carnation staff shines at international staff appreciation awards

    The awards, held annually, aim to recognise employees who go the extra mile to secure the comfort of their respective establishment's guests.

    The Twelve Apostles Hotel takes great pride in announcing Candice Grobbelaar and Joy Welby-Solomon as Employee and Manager of the Year respectively. Grobbelaar received the Employee of the Year award for her meticulous guest relations in her position as guest liaison officer; Welby-Solomon in turn was praised for her top-notch managerial skills as Pastry Sous-Chef, making her the obvious choice for the Manager of the Year award.

    Awards for Africa

    The luxurious hotel withholds even more winners such Henrico Grobbelaar, known for his understated approach to food was awarded the Red Carnation Chef of the Year award. Michael Nel received the title for Red Carnation Revenue Manager of the Year, Thabang Rapotu was presented with the Red Carnation Guest Services Manager of the Year award with Irin Tobo taking home the award for Red Carnation Room Attendant of the Year. Oyama Flatela completed the winning circle with Red Carnation Food and Beverage Employee of the Year award while Alfred Manjezi's embodiment of the RCH mission statement "no request too large; no detail too small" secured him the Red Carnation Hotel Mission Statement Award.

    Bushmans Kloof Wilderness Reserve & Wellness Retreat staff also managed to bring home a string of awards.

    The Bushmans Kloof winners include mother-and-daughter team Dalene Swart, the butler at Koro Lodge at Bushmans Kloof who was awarded the Bushmans Kloof Employee of the Year award and her mother Katrina who won the Red Carnation Back of House Employee of the Year award.

    James Basson received the Red Carnation Assistant GM of the Year award, Regardt Boshoff outwitted competition with the Red Carnation Hotel Most Knowledgeable Employee award with Terry Kwezzi and Natalie Smart included on the Red Carnation Honour Roll.
