The Cape Town Festival of Beer returns for eighth year

The Cape Town Festival of Beer will be returning for its eighth year at the Hamilton's Rugby Club, from 1 to 3 December 2017, and will feature a number of new breweries.

“Cape Town Festival of Beer is the biggest beer festival of its kind in the Southern Hemisphere. We have the highest number of commercially available beers of any beer festival in the country. This year we are also adding a wider range of ciders from cideries around the country,” said Martin Tucker, co-founder of CTFOB.

The best in food, beer and entertainment

The festival will return to Hamilton’s Rugby Club, once again showcasing the best in food, beer and live entertainment, as it continues to cement its spot on the South African and even international beer calendar. There will be a greater focus on ciders and the offering will be extensive, as the local cider industry has taken off over the past few years.

A corporate hospitality offering will be available on 1 December, including a dedicated seating area, food and beer vouchers, a dedicated host, as well as branding opportunities. Cape Town’s business set is invited to take advantage of the unique opportunity to host their year-end parties at CTFOB 2017. Corporate hospitality packages can be booked via Webtickets. Special discount is available for groups of more than 20 people.

While many of the now established brewers will return, there will be a number of brewers attending the festival for the first time. Everyone from the casual beer drinker to the beer sommelier will have the opportunity to sip on beers they’ve never tasted, styles they’ve never tried and to see how brewers are pushing the boundaries of beer more than ever.

CTFOB also has an established relationship with Uber, allowing attendees to travel to and from the event at a reduced rate.

What visitors can expect

Each of the three days of the festival offers visitors a unique feel, from the ideal year-end function or post-work drinks event on Friday, to a day of sports and entertainment on Saturday, and finally a day focused on the whole family, on Sunday.
