The company was presented with MADA’s inaugural ‘Africa Social Impact Award’ (ASIA) during a gala dinner, which was also an opportunity to recognise the young participants of the Boys2Men programme, an education initiative which In2IT has sponsored since 2016.
MADA chairman, Tshepo Mokoena says, “With the advent of fourth industrial revolution, education becomes one of the most challenging issues of our times. This award is given to leaders who have shown willingness to find innovative solutions to empower our youth with education. Over last few years, In2IT has gone across rural South Africa and brought in hundreds of youth, imparting tech skills including Artificial Intelligence, IT Security, Internet of Things and blockchain with courses being 3 months to 12 months duration. We acknowledge incredible work done by them”
Bursary programme announced
In2IT was recognised for their education initiatives including the In2intellects programme and the work they have done for Boys2Men project. During the gala dinner, Saurabh Kumar, CEO at In2IT, announced In2IT’s bursary programme explaining that In2IT would be sponsoring young boys from the Boys2Men initiative to further their studies.
Saurabh Kumar, CEO at In2IT Technologies SA says, “We are honoured to have received the ‘Africa Social Impact Award’, especially after we were able to announce our bursary programme, where Boys2Men partakers will be able to go to university and realise their full potential. In addition, the award further pushes us to work on these education initiatives particularly Boys2Men as well as our In2intellects programme that was started in 2017.”
The guest of honour at the event was Panyaza Lesufi, MEC for Education in Gauteng. In his speech, Lesufi commended MADA’s Boys2Men initiative and celebrated the boys for their efforts and the tenacity they have shown with their studies. He also expressed his excitement for their future and the important role technology companies such as In2IT played in the young boy’s education.
“With aim to assist in filling the gap with developing and skilling youth with a predisposition for technology, by providing these boys with support to further their studies, we are contributing towards creating a tech driven future upheld by South African youth. Importantly, we are making a difference in these boys’ lives,” concludes Kumar.
