The allegations include that the company, in related transactions, accepted the proceeds of fraud. The properties in question are both in Johannesburg. The EAAB will probe the allegations, published in a Mail & Guardian report, together with the Financial Intelligence Centre (FIC).
“We take these allegations extremely seriously and have commissioned a full and independent external investigation,” said Bradd Bendall, general manager: real estate operations at Pam Golding Properties.
The company has yet to be notified of any formal investigation by the EAAB or FIC, he said, but "will co-operate fully".
The group’s own investigation was "well under way", said Bendall.
