Nielsen has been with CNBC Africa as an anchor of various programs since its inception, hosting the weekday evening show "Business Tonight", and some of her most insightful contributions to the business news channel include hosting the live "CNBC Africa Debate" at the World Economic Forum in 2007.

As her new role of executive director, she will focus on all commercial opportunities for all the companies within the ABN Group, as well as working closely with senior management on all strategic growth opportunities. Nielsen will continue with her on-air commitments, while also supporting chief editor of CNBC Africa, Godfrey Mutizwa, on programming requirements.

"Bronwyn's experience will be truly put to the optimal use across all activities of the company. We welcome her to her new role in the Group," adds Naidoo.
