Through an ongoing planning schedule, hotels are treated to makeovers to ensure that they always offer modern, functional and stylish facilities for all their discerning guests to enjoy.

The latest hotels in the group to be refurbished are City Lodge Hotel Durban and Town Lodge Johannesburg Airport. Both hotels are extremely popular with both business and leisure travellers.

At City Lodge Durban, the first phase of the refurbishment was completed in February, with the next phase due to be completed by 4 May and the final phase by early June.

The refurbishment includes new fabrics and carpets in the hotel’s commercial area, a complete overhaul of the bedrooms and a new bathroom layout. The bedroom revamp includes new flooring, artwork and fabrics. The new bathroom layout includes luxury showers and high quality sanitary ware.

At Town lodge Johannesburg Airport, the refurbishment is expected to be completed by 6 May. It includes an overhaul of the commercial area, bedrooms and bathrooms.

In the commercial area, new shopfitting, lighting, artwork and flooring has been installed. The bedrooms have been updated with new flooring, artwork and fabrics. The bathrooms have received a fresh new layout, including stylish sanitaryware.

The exterior of the hotel has also been revamped with a remodelling of the main entrance to include a covered entrance canopy. A patio has also been added off the lounge. Facades will be updated in the coming year as part of the Town Lodge rebranding process.

The group is currently finalising plans and budgets for refurbishments that will take place at other hotels in 2018/19.
