Wearing and sharing for the World Cup

Learners at both Carter Primary School and Ekukhanyisweni Primary School were transformed into the greatest fans as Pick 'n Pay and 94.7 Highveld Stereo's Bongani Nxumalo handed out over 2500 official Bafana Bafana fan gear.

In the hopes of spreading the 2010 FIFA World Cup spirit, the Wear One Share One campaign encouraged local Pick 'n Pay shoppers to purchase supporter gear for themselves and someone less fortunate. In return the firm pledged to donate over 2500 Official Bafana Bafana beanies and scarves to two underprivileged primary schools in Alexandra, a township in northern Johannesburg.

Bongani was met with performances from the school choirs, traditional dancers and drum majorettes, before he interacted with learners and fired them up with songs like Shoshaloza and the National Anthem.

Once each child had secured their scarves around their neck and topped their heads with beanies, they got the opportunity to sing live on air and interact with 94.7's Rude Awakening team and Alex Jay.
