ASA rules against Opel ads

The Advertising Standards Authority (ASA) has ordered three Opel Corsa Classic radio ads and one TV ad, which played on the word "polo", to be withdrawn because they were deemed to constitute illegal comparitive advertising. The complaint was laid by Ogilvy and Mather on behalf of their client Volkswagen, which produces a car called Polo. Net#work BBDO, the agency behind the Opel ads, has said that they will appeal.
