Wholesale trade, when measured in real terms (constant 2012 prices), has remained stable despite the slowdown in the South African economy, data from Statistics SA showed on Thursday.
Seasonally adjusted wholesale trade sales fell 0.8% in October 2015 compared with September 2015. This followed a month-on-month rise of 1.4% in September and a dip of 0.8% in August.
In the three months to 31 October 2015, seasonally adjusted wholesale trade sales were up 0.4% compared with the previous three months.
Measured in nominal terms (current prices), wholesale trade sales rose 1.6% in October 2015 compared with October 2014.
Wholesale trade sales increased 0.7% in the three months to 31 October 2015 compared with the three months ended October 2014.
