Jacaranda 94.2 celebrates 21 years on-air

Jacaranda 94.2 recently entertained VIP guests at its annual trade function at Montecasino's fabulous new Piazza. The chilly weather did not deter invitees from attending this popular function - as a full guest list joined South Africa's largest independent radio station in showcasing their media and marketing platforms.

The festivities commenced with popular local artist Loyiso and his Street Busters song heralding Jacaranda 94.2's impressive and clearly branded Dodge Nitro Street Buster vehicles. The vehicles carry a visible presence of the station's DNA wherever they go, reminding everyone that this station is the listeners' choice.

Guests also met Kieno Kammies and the Good Morning Angels as they brightened the life of someone less fortunate with financial assistance. The plight of a recently widowed mom was eased with a cheque for R 40 000 donated by financial services company, Liberty Life. Hearing of her difficulties, the Good Morning Angels called on Liberty Life to come to her rescue and added an extra R 15 000 to her cause from monies deposited into the Good Morning Angels bank account by Jacaranda 94.2 listeners. The Angels also managed to secure free schooling for the remainder of the year from the Department of Education for the mom's three children.

With suitably warmed hearts, guests were escorted into the futuristic hall decorated to match the theme of the evening - 'Radio in the Digital Age'. Alan Khan, CEO of Jacaranda 94.2 welcomed everyone and thanked clients and staff for their support over the years. He expressed pride in Jacaranda's success and predicted the station to be an ongoing intimate participant in the daily lives of thousands of South Africans.
