The formal launch event, attended by 450 guests from Zambia and South Africa, was staged and managed by LM&P at The Theatre on the Track at Kyalami earlier this month. Highlights of the evening included the first public address by South Africa's new Minister of Transport, The Hon. Mr Sibusiso Ndebele, excellent stage performances by entertainers from both South Africa and Zambia and an exquisite four course dinner.

Zambezi Airlines CEO, Cornwell Muleya, says the launch was as a truly world-class event enjoyed and appreciated by all. “In addition, the exposure we have garnered out of the various media events have enabled us to renew and make new lasting friendships with both the South African and Zambian business community. The Zambezi Airlines family is proud of the event and will always remember this milestone which signifies a quantum leap in its growth and development.”

Lynne Mackenzie, Managing Director of LM&P, says she is delighted with the exceptional response from guests following the launch event as well as with ongoing media exposure to position Zambezi Airlines as Southern Africa's preferred regional carrier.

Beginning with the first B737, Zambezi Airlines will have daily flights into Johannesburg from Lusaka and four flights into Johannesburg from Ndola. From the entry into service of a second aircraft, the airline will have double daily flights on the Lusaka-Johannesburg route, four flights per week between Ndola and Johannesburg, three flights per week between Livingstone and Johannesburg, and three flights from Lusaka to Dar-es-Salaam.
