Who will be the Top Women of 2012? Nominations now open!

Do you know an inspiring businesswoman? Is your company committed to gender empowerment? The Top Women Awards want to hear from you. Entries have opened for the 9th Annual Top Women Awards and this year the Awards will again showcase South Africa's most successful gender empowerment stories.

Strong businesswomen are not only fundamental to sustainable growth of companies, but also to the growth of our country. Nominations are already pouring in and the winners will be announced at gala ceremony on 08 August 2012.

The night will also see the launch of the 2012 edition of the Top Women publication. Publisher Karla Fletcher says the publication's research shows gender empowerment is a key factor on the government and businesses' agendas.

"Research proves that more women at board, director or management level creates higher performance levels and increases motivation as well as productivity. As South Africa is becoming a stronger player in global gender empowerment statistics, government and businesses need to stay committed to this initiative as it is a positive factor in stimulating growth in our economy. "

The Awards are supported by forward-thinking companies like Dirco (Top Gender Empowered Multinational Award) and Anglo Platinum (Top Gender Empowered Company: Business Education and Training Award).

As the Awards recognise the top companies that are strong on the empowerment front, the judging process is extremely robust. This year's judging panel is made up of a number of respected business leaders like Mrs Kandimathie Christine Ramon, the Chief Financial Officer & Executive Director at Sasol Limited, Ms Dolly Mokgatle, the Co-Founder and Executive Director at Peotona Group Holdings Limited, Ms Basetsana Kumalo Director at Travel with Flair, Ms Leigh Gunkel-Keuler, the Public Affairs, Policy & Communication Director at Pfizer South Africa and Mr Stewart van Graan the General Manager at Dell Southern and Central Africa.
