Change of Heart 104.9's current line-up

Heart 104.9 has modified its line-up changes effective 01 May 2006. The main focus of Cape Town’s soul station is to provide listeners with programming which presents a wide range of information, entertainment, sports and their favourite music. But rather than make these changes on a ‘gut feeling’, considerable time and effort went into researching what listeners in Cape Town want.
The programming kicks off with the Hearty Breakfast Show, 6am-9am Monday to Friday, featuring Saskia Falken, Julian Naidoo as traffic anchor, Vanessa Poonah as news anchor, Nick Feinberg on the sports desk and Robin Adams as producer.

Clarence Ford and Natalie Becker swop timeslots, with Ford now hosting the popular 9am-12pm time channel Mondays to Fridays.

Natalie Becker moves to the evening slot between 6pm and 10pm Mondays to Fridays to soothe and relieve the after-hour work fatigue.

Ian Ward will now present the 10am-2pm weekend slot after a sabbatical in the radio industry and is looking forward to entertaining and enthusing Heart listeners.

Listeners will also be familiar with weekend sports anchor, Tony Lankester, who presents the weekend sports bulletins between 2pm and 6pm Saturdays and Sundays.

Wait Up-
No one likes change and normally you find it's the negative comments that are the most frequent. Aden was great and Saskia has all my support. Good luck. Yea, some listeners will move to other stations but I believe more will find their true heart.

Koketso Sachane?-
I would be interesting to find out what impact Koketso Sachane has had since his shift from 6-10pm to 12-3pm at the beginning of the year. Ive always tried to see what this whole "people of the light" business is all about. Koketso seems rather lost or overlooked in the 104.9 line up. is he effective? does he work on air? what is a gauteng born guy doing on cape town radio in the first place? in my opinion he seems too political or opinionated. cape town radio is not ready for his amandla attitude.

couldn't disagree with you more!-
Koketso seems to be the sole remaining voice of intelligence at Heart; it's nice to hear someone with the guts to voice their opinions and the skill and eloquence to do so intelligently. If you don't like having your views challenged and interrogated, by all means tune out; you will find Az Abrahams and Lee Downs much more to your liking with their low IQ shows, repeating the same tired jokes and inane commentary. And what the hell is wrong with an ex-Joburger working in Cape Town radio - all that "local is lekker" attitude results in is the perpetual recycling of the same boring and unintelligent presenters from station to station. Cape Town radio needs a serious shot of fresh blood in the arm, and seeing as it doesn't appear to be coming forth from the local stable, then why shouldn't stations recruit from further afield? Should a DJ's professional life be over if they choose to or are forced to move cities? I don't think so at all. Talent is universal.
