The sectors covered include:

  • Architecture & Engineering

South Africa's latest salary trends revealed

Comparing salaries 6 and 12 months ago, no major changes are evident. Regionally, Gauteng remains at the forefront of market demand and therefore also remains at the top of the pay scale, especially within the Engineering, Finance and Sales sectors, where pay gaps vary from 15% to 29% between Gauteng and the Western Cape.

Digging even deeper into the data, best-paid workers across the 10 analysed sectors seem to be those in the fields of ICT, Finance and Engineering with many salaries stretching to over R50,000 monthly for senior level professionals. On the other end of the spectrum, workers in the fields of Admin, Office & Support, Manufacturing & Assembly, and Warehousing & Logistics are the lower earners, with some only earning between R3,500 and R6,000 per month.
