New business for Draftfcb Africa Network

The Draftfcb Africa Network has been appointed by Singapore-based Wings Corporation to handle the media planning and buying in Africa for its SoKlin brand.

It will also take the Engen brand into Africa working closely with Draftfcb Cape Town, which was appointed as the main agency on the business in October this year.

Founded in 1948 in Surabaya, Indonesia, Wings Corporation has grown from a small home industry to a market leader employing thousands of people. Its consumer product business is active in the laundry/fabric care, personal care, home care, and food & beverage categories. SoKlin leads the market in the power detergent category in Nigeria in terms of volume and value (21% and 27% respectively: AC Nielsen) as well as in Madagascar, Mauritania, Angola and the DRC.

Said Draftfcb Africa Network MD, Philip van Rensburg: "We were delighted to host the SoKlin team of Ferjim Preze, Sungkono Sadikin and Shinta Elvira Muljadi in Cape Town during the recent pitch and negotiations, and are looking forward to building a strong relationship with them as we come to grips with their business in the years ahead.

"The network is also very excited about the part it played in the Engen pitch, and eagerly await our opportunity to prove our mettle there."

The new business boosts the network's global and pan-African client list to seven multinational organisations: Engen and SoKlin join SC Johnson, MoneyGram International, Emirates, Trellidor and Distell.
