Draftfcb South Africa wins nine Assegai Awards

Draftfcb South Africa walked away with six golds and three bronzes at a glamorous gala awards dinner held in Newtown, Johannesburg on the 17th of November 2009.

The Assegai Awards are South Africa's premiere direct marketing award show and the evening affair is dedicated to celebrating the best direct marketers who really know how to “make it work”.

Recognising campaigns that are both creative and effective, 4 golds and 1 bronze were scooped by Impact Cape Town: 3 golds for the Die Burger cup campaign, 1 gold Van Schaiks and 1 bronze for Momentum Myriad FPI Stand. Draftfcb Johannesburg picked up 2 more golds - one for ConnectEd and the other for the Vodacom Player 23 campaign (which also picked up a bronze). Lexus Live Drive picked up the third bronze.

The Assegais celebrate response-driven advertising that not only reaches its market but keeps them coming back too. Singling out remarkable direct marketing strategies, the awards recognise campaigns that are brought to life with creative brilliance and that deliver ROI excellence.

Entries are judged in one of the following seven categories: Media; Digital Media; Strategic & Integrated Marketing; Technology Solutions & Innovations; Craft Awards; Young Direct Marketer Awards; and Individual & Company.

“The awards were a fantastic achievement for Draftfcb!” said Draftfcb South Africa's Chief Creative Officer, Brett Morris. “Winning a coveted Assegai is an opportunity to set the creative benchmark, be applauded by your peers - not to mention open the door to new business.

“Huge respect to all concerned, a truly awesome achievement. Looks like we've set the tone for Assegais in 2010!”
