Real love deserves real expression this Valentine's Day

The country's largest same-day gift service, NetFlorist, is reminding South Africans that real love deserves real expression - not virtual - when it comes to wooing their Valentines.

A 30-second radio spot featuring Harold, the rather naughty, slightly saucy character created by Draftfcb Johannesburg to break through advertising clutter, dismisses social media when a young man calls his relationship hotline.

The dilemma facing him is that no amount of Facebook likes, comments and pokes have exhorted his crush to notice him.

In true Harold style, the relationship advice is witty and a little below the belt. "Get real, and send her a dozen red roses," he urges. "Trust me, she'll be googling your twitter until you hash tag all over her Facebook in no time."

The 15-year-old flower and gifting service first called upon Harold a few years ago to add some spice and alternative thinking to his fans' lives, while reminding them about NetFlorist's range of products. This execution created to drive sales of roses ahead of February 14, shows he knows what it takes to win your true love, and surely has all the ladies out their nodding in agreement.
