English for Professional Development Certificate Ceremony

The English for Professional Development (EPD) unit held their 4th annual Certificate Ceremony on Friday evening, 1st November 2013.
English for Professional Development Certificate Ceremony

The unit's primary focus is to develop and enhance people's English communication skills. The annual Certificate Ceremony marks the most important date on the department's calendar as this evening strives to give recognition to those students who have participated in the public programme over the course of the year. The department is very proud of the students who attained competency and were awarded with certificates.

This year's guest speaker was Yoke Barrish, who spoke to the students about using their English skills to further develop their career prospects. Yoke also highlighted the importance of reading and how it can take you on journeys and allow you to experience emotions and events that you would not ordinarily encounter in your everyday life.

Special awards were also given to those students who have participated in three or more of the EPD courses. Recognition was also given to a student who completed four levels, travelling from Rustenburg to attend the Saturday classes in Johannesburg.

The English for Professional Development unit wishes to congratulate each student for their commitment to enhancing their skills in an increasingly competitive job market.
