The Bicycle Dual activation involved two participants cycling against one another on stationary bicycles to achieve their top speed in 30 seconds. The bicycles were set to ensure that they were evenly matched for resistance and Garmin hub centres recorded and transferred the data onto two large 55-inch screens, positioned on two custom-built stands, which displayed their times.
The competitive spirit of the participants was clear to see and those that reached the top highest speeds in 30 seconds were given spot prizes.
Elan Davidson, Technical Director of Moving Tactics Digital Impact, reflects, “These types of marketing engagements are a big hit for both the clients and the participants. Almost all the people attending these expos are the fit, competitive types and it’s very entertaining to see how seriously they take it. It proved to a highly visual spectacle that used some pretty simple but great technology. The main challenge from our side was developing software that could work with the existing Garmin hardware and give us accurate data in real time.”
