Oasys appointed as sole supplier to the International Destination Expo 2009

Oasys Innovations has officially been appointed as the sole infrastructure supplier for the International Destination Expo. The American Society of Travel Agents (ASTA) is holding their conference, “Excel in the growing South African market”, at Sun City's Superbowl, during early March 2009.

ASTA represents travel agents from across the globe, as well as the many companies who supply the industry, such as tour companies, cruise operators, hotels and conference venues. Representing the industry for over 75 years, the Association is hosting next year's conference to educate their members about South Africa and the many tourist attractions our country has to offer.

Says ASTA spokesperson Scott Goss: “Our members view these conferences as a way to gain firsthand experience of the destination they are offering to their clients. It is an excellent networking opportunity, enabling our members to build strong partnerships with South African suppliers, which will only benefit their clients in the long term. We also offer our members the opportunity to travel around the country and experience it for themselves, giving them the knowledge necessary to brief visitors to South Africa with accurate information about the various attractions on offer to both business and leisure tourists.”

Oasys Business Development Manager Andrew Gibbs: “Oasys Innovations will be the sole infrastructure supplier to the International Destination Expo. All sponsors and participating companies will therefore have a single point of reference for their queries, ensuring the smooth implementation of all aspects of the conference's planning phases. With over 1000 attendees from all over the world attending next year's conference, this event provides Oasys and South Africa with a unique opportunity to showcase our country as well as the infrastructure, venues and services we have on offer. There will be around 150 exhibitors at the conference, targeting both business and leisure tourists.”

Oasys' representative based in Sun City Ariel Venter, who was instrumental in securing this contract concludes: “We are confident that our diverse business units will be able to supply a complete solution to the organisers. This is an excellent opportunity for South Africa's tourism sector to build new relationships with a lucrative market.”
