Seseki Itsweng to lead Openfield into the future

Openfield Marketing is proud to announce that Seseki Itsweng has been appointed Managing Director of Openfield Marketing in South Africa.

Openfield Marketing is a creative marketing company specialising in sponsorship, brand experiences and corporate social investment. It employs 55 people in offices in Johannesburg, Cape Town and London.

Seseki Itsweng to lead Openfield into the future

Seseki takes over this position from Franco Barocas who has moved into the Group Managing Director role, responsible for the Group’s overall operations and new partnerships which will be announced soon.

This appointment was announced by Thabo Mosololi, Chairman of the Openfield Group. “Openfield is a black majority owned and controlled company with 30% direct black female ownership and this appointment is testament to our commitment to transformation within the industry and the country,” said Mosololi.

“To now be able to put in place a top black executive to head up Openfield Marketing with all the necessary experience and expertise, is a credit to Franco and his management team who have worked tirelessly to achieve this over the last four years.”

Seseki has a long and distinguished track record. From representing the then Northern Transvaal at age group cricket and football while at Pretoria Boys High, to becoming the first black leader of the Tuks Rag while completing his studies at the University of Pretoria and then rising through the ranks in the sponsorship marketing industry at EXP over a seven-year period.

He was headhunted by Openfield two years ago and empowered to ensure he was ready for the next step in his career by extending his business knowledge, refining all his areas of expertise and preparing him for an overall leadership role.

He took up his new position on 1 November 2017.

“I am very excited to lead Openfield into the future and look forward to building on the tremendous work done in the last four years to make Openfield the leading sponsorship, brand experience and CSI agency in the country.

“My focus will be on driving creativity and innovation throughout the organisation, but especially through our new in-house specialist digital content division, which brings to SA a world trend we need to recognise and use to best effect locally.

“Excellence for the benefit of our clients will continue as the benchmark against which we will measure ourselves,” concludes Itsweng.
