OFM searching for new talent

Central South African radio station, OFM, will be conducting a regional search for new on-air talent during their On-Air 2009 auditions. If the judges like what they hear, one lucky entrant could win a contract to be part of the OFM team.

The judging team will consist of Tim Zunckel, programme manager and Nick Efstathiou, marketing manager of OFM. Both judges bring with them a wealth of radio knowledge and expertise. They will visit five main cities in the stations broadcasting footprint from Monday, 17 August to Friday, 21 August.

An on-air campaign has been launched inviting all current and ‘new' voices to register for auditions by simply going on-line to www.ofm.co.za or the stations mobi site at m.ofm.co.za. Entrants that register on-line can download the audition text to start training for their 30 seconds behind the microphone.

The On Air 2009 auditions will take place as follows:

  • 17 August: Welkom - Goldfields Casino from 09:00
  • 18 August: Vanderbijlpark - Vaal Mall from 09:00
  • 19 August: Potchefstroom - Mooirivier Mall from 09:00
  • 20 August: Kimberley - North Cape Mall from 09:00

  • 21 August: Bloemfontein - Mimosa Mall from 09:00

A total of five finalists from the week's auditions will be announced on Friday, 21 August after 15:00.

From Monday, 24 to Friday, 28 August, each finalist will get the opportunity to showcase their skills live on-air, as part of the stations breakfast team, Pieter & Christie on OFM. During the week listeners can SMS and vote for their favourite finalist. The winner will be announced on Monday, 31 August in the breakfast show.
