Egg Films won Gold, Silver and Bronze at this week's Khuza Awards, the only audience-based prize evening in the country, voted for by over 1 200 young South Africans.

Topsy Selinah, directed by Kim Geldenhuys for Ogilvy Johannesburg, won Gold as the favourite spot for 19-23 year olds. Showing that the effects of HIV/AIDS can be reversed, the moving spot was also the second most popular advert with teenagers.

Beggar, Slim's Net#work BBDO ad for Chicken Licken, was the third most popular ad with 19-23 years olds and the fourth most popular with teens, showing a willingness among the youth to laugh at cultural misunderstandings.

Verushka Vogt directed the celebrity-driven SHOUT music video, helping the Danny K, Kabelo and Net#work BBDO anti-crime campaign win an online merit award.

The winners were revealed during the Kid and Teen Republic Conference at The Sandton Hilton in August 2011.
