Last week's [AfricaCom] conference was abuzz with innovation and development on the continent. Key among these was the announcement that
YouTube is taking Africa offline, in meeting the goal of making video more viewable on the continent. One such feature lets South Africa, Nigeria, Kenya and Ghana watch videos in periods of low or no internet connectivity.
Thinkroom Consulting also released its
inaugural SME Landscape Study last week, with special focus on the conduciveness of starting and conducting business in Africa. Mauritius, South Africa and Botswana came out tops, with the score benchmarked against countries outside of Africa to provide an indication of the measure compared to non-African, developed markets.
