How Africa Tweets study,
Portland analysed geo-located tweets originating from Africa during the final three months of 2013. The study dives deeper into Twitter use in Africa - which cities are the most active, what languages are being used the most and what issues are driving the conversation online. On its website, Portland also has a pretty cool
animated map, illustrating geo-located tweets in a 24-hour period across the continent's 20 largest cities.
Among a few others, highlights over the past week included Cobus van Zyl's piece
Bank on change in Africa. He reckons banks in Tanzania should be very, very worried as solutions are coming from non-traditional banking sources, like the cellular providers. According to him, the future of banking in Tanzania, and indeed across the whole of East Africa, will be determined by how fast banks can smarten up to the changing game around them.
Daniel Marcus gives some tips on how to get the
right project management tool for your business, and Kate Douglas says that
e-commerce could challenge bricks and mortar retail in Africa.
