Yesterday, 1 September at the annual Highway Africa Conference in Grahamstown, Peter Horrocks, director of BBC Global News, announced some good news - BBC
will be opening a new pan-African Unit in Johannesburg this month displaying the BBC's continuing commitment to Africa.
Horrocks stated that the news broadcaster will step up its coverage of African business, bringing impartial, objective coverage to audiences across Africa and beyond.
The weekend delivered some even better news with the release of South African cameraman, Adil Bradlow, after being
detained by Egyptian authorities while working for Al Jazeera in Cairo earlier last week.
Remember that entries for the
2013 AfricaCom Conference closes on 6 September, so if you haven't yet, get moving and enter before Friday!
Cheers!
