The Bible Society of South Africa (BSSA) is a non-profit organisation that has been translating, publishing, and distributing the Bible in South Africa since 1820. The mission of the BSSA is to provide affordable Bibles for everyone, in their own language and in suitable formats, so that all may experience the life-giving message of the Word.

The above-mentioned permanent career opportunity is currently available at the BSSA. The National Fundraiser is responsible for driving the BSSA’s strategic plan country wide to ensure that sustainable relationships are built with key donors. The job incumbent is required to develop and engage in innovative fundraising initiatives to promote BSSA in an effort to gain support and funding from key donors. The incumbent will monitor the donor base with a view to expand and grow the donor base by getting financial support from non BSSA member churches, individuals, businesses and trusts.

 Requirements:
  • Relevant business qualification
  • 5 years’ experience in similar role
  • Experience in digital fundraising and leveraging social media for impact story telling
  • Strong financial awareness, including budget management and understanding of impact-linked financial mechanisms
  • Sound knowledge of SA fundraising landscape and best practice
  • Proven track record of achieving targets across multiple streams from donors
  • Donor database management
  • Sound knowledge of SA marketing methods
  • Proposal writing, grant compliance and donor reporting standards
