Fox Movies has been generating a buzz among viewers and advertisers across Egypt and the Middle East. The globally-renowned Fox International Channels (FIC) and Arab satellite network, Rotana Media Services (RMS) have teamed up to create Fox Movies, the second 24-hour movie channel in the Middle East that can also toot the FTA horn.
We thought we had it all: Dubai One, the MBC network, OTV, Rotana, Dream, Modern, LBC. The list grew longer as the concept of ‘free-to-air' (FTA) TV stations took off over recent years. A variety of channels were determined to broadcast a gluttonous amount of entertainment without any subscription fees, all at the hands of channel-surfing viewers. Even the most passionate movie enthusiast wasn't complaining that there was only one channel dedicated to broadcasting non-stop Hollywood movies: MBC2. However, May 2008 saw the unexpected but much-welcomed emergence of a new sheriff in satellite-town: Fox.
