Nigerian Govt. to connect half the population to broadband in 2015The Nigerian Government has revealed plans to connect 50% of its population to 3G broadband during the course of 2015. Nigeria's ICT Ministry intends on achieving this through the "Wireless Broadband Infrastructure Upgrade and Expansion Phase 1," which is under Nigeria's National Broadband Plan 2013-2018. ![]() Nigerian president Goodluck Jonathan. According to the committee, headed by former Executive Vice Chairman of the Nigerian Communications Commission, Ernest Ndukwe, 3G services would be powered by ubiquitous broadband facilities. Apart from ensuring that all new mobile sites are LTE-compatible, the ICT Ministry will also articulate measures for complete digital dividend spectrum migration and release more spectrum for LTE through the NCC.
