Well done Ryan, you are the embodiment of a medium sized business leader; you think outside the box, you don't sit on your behind and blame circumstances, like Napoleon, you create circumstances. I'm not sure whether you are a descendant of the great Bacher cricketing family, nevertheless we need more leaders like you. Well done and stay safe, we can't afford to lose you!
I think the perception that OOH spend has disappeared as a result of lockdown couldn't be further from the truth. Most budget were allocated last year for this year and while there may be shifts, the companies who allocate those budgets understand the necessity to keep their message visible everywhere especially now.
This is great, but for those of us who need to renew our passports to return to work overseas there are no current processes in place. It would be so helpful if Home Affairs could process or allow collection of passports for those who fall into this category. It seems a much safer process than marriage licences, which are currently allowed and require a minimum of four people to be present at Home Affairs.
I recently had a WhatsApp video interview with a company called Dante personnel after the interview I waited a few days before following up with a lady from the recruitment agency and she blocked me on WhatsApp I sent an email to the main person in charge and have yet to have heard a response. I'm extremely disappointed and disgusted with the level of service I received from Dante personnel and will be reporting them to the ombudsman.
Your company can take that as leave but they have to pay you in full then even if you are working shorter hour. I'm opening my store on 2nd June and my staff will be doing shift work and I was advised that I could use their leave for the time off. See if you can get in touch with a labour lawyer or contact Teboho Maruping the labour commissioner on Teboho.Maruping@labour.gov.za. He did respond to me however you might have to wait a while. If he does not respond just mail him again. Good Luck :)
