Fantastic article Britta. This is of interest to me as I have been working with a fascinating company called Retail Engage who are the largest aggregator of the independent retail market and they get live data through the tills which they overlay with thier 1.5 million strong loyalty base (The Bonsella Brand which is offered in all these stores) to get real time consumer buying behaviour. Thier data definitely corrolates with a lot of the PRC report, except that thier market is far more Peri-Urban. Fascinating stuff.
My Kreepy Teacher - this is a perfect example of bringing up the controversial matter of value of a creative idea. I would bet that the agency got paid a small amount of money for their time to produce this viral piece. The client did not have to invest any money in media to get around a million views, if not more. Should agencies get paid according to the success of their idea? in this instance definitely! this is also a great way to showcase the agency's credentials. I bet they will be invited to a few more pitches in the near future. Well deserved!
There's no reason to become alarmed, and we hope you'll enjoy the rest of your flight. By the way, is there anyone on board who knows how to fly a plane?- Elaine Dickinson in Airplane! the movie, 1980.
People are ignoring the fact that the agency that did the work is 100% owned by non-whites, and the brand team is black. To solve this we need to empower people to speak up instead of just following corporate directives like sheep.
How can a fair decision be made if all the facts are not considered? What 'conservatism' is Mr Daniels speaking of? Does he know the meaning of the word? How can he compare a viewing deck on the mountain and a restaurant at Cape Point with the Two Rivers Project? How many people have been housed or have been able to rent affordable accommodation at the two sites he referred to? It is an absolutely bizarre decision with Daniels seemingly so high on money that he cannot even give a reasonable statement.
