Pop Up Cinema is an event that brings movies and the people who love them together, and saw great success at this year's Johannesburg event where the iconic John Hughes film, The Breakfast Club, was screened.

Back to the Future was selected as one of this year's Pop Up Cinema Feature Films due to its popularity, both then and now. It is a film that remains a pioneer of its era to this day and even won an Oscar in 1986.

"I'm absolutely thrilled that Capetonians will be able to be a part of Pop Up Cinema this year," said Alan Musa, GM of the Middle East and Africa for Turner Broadcasting System. "Pop Up Cinema is a wonderful way for fans to engage with their favourite movies. I know that everyone will have a wonderful time."

The event will be hosted at the old-world Hope Street Hall, home of the increasingly popular City Bowl Market. Guests attending Pop Up Cinema's screening of Back to the Future are encouraged to embrace the look and feel of the film by bringing their friends, dressing up in appropriate costume and embarking on a wild ride. Pinball machines and a host of other activities will be on offer.

Tickets are limited and bookings can now be made at www.tcmafrica.com/popupcinema.

For those who are unable to attend the event, Back to the Future is also part of TCM Select, the destination for film lovers of all ages, which is on air on the channel every Sunday at 9pm. Back to the Future will be shown on Sunday, 23 September on DStv.
