Criteria

When evaluating the top brands in the Mxit ecosystem of apps, games, content and communities, we applied the following criteria:

  • Working app with updated information
  • Real world brand that exists outside of the Mxit ecosystem
  • No services based apps and games such as MxPx, Judgeme, Moonbase, Battletrivia, Wikipedia, Hello Doctor, etc.
  • No individual celebrities such as Romy Titus, Riaad Moosa, etc.
  • No chat rooms

Analysis: Pep kicks out KFC and FNB continues its audience growth

FNB has jumped three places from 13 to 10, to put more distance between itself and the other banking brands by acquiring just under 70 000 new subscribers since March 2013. A new arrival is PEP, which over took over the number 20 slot from KFC on the back of a targeted promotions campaign.
