Being Boss hosts Speed Networking in Cape Town

Being Boss will host a Speed Networking event in Cape Town on 24 November 2016 at 6.30pm at Workshop 17, V&A Waterfront. The event is a business empowerment gathering, aimed at networking and empowering women in business, aspiring entrepreneurs as well as established entrepreneurs. It will allow guests the opportunity to meet with potential investors as well as source funding for their businesses.

Panel of speakers


  • Yvonne Wakefield - holds a BA (Law) and LLB from the Stellenbosch University and a diploma in International Law from Antwerp University. She completed a Masters degree in Commercial Law and Tax at UCT and qualified as a solicitor in England and Wales. Wakefield joined Bowman Gilfillan Inc in Cape Town as a candidate attorney. After concluding her articles, she served as an attorney in the Cape High Court. She was admitted as an advocate, and went on to undertake her pupillage at the Cape Bar. She has been serving as an external examiner at UCT’s law faculty in Final Integrated Assessment Project.

  • Damian Michael - is an entrepreneur, businessman and a philanthropist. He is currently the MD of Innovo Networks. Michael has worked as a professional within the ICT industry for several years. He holds a wealth of experience in both the public and the private sector. He is a specialist in ICT, as well as strategy execution and marketing.

  • Kieno Kammies - is an experienced journalist and radio personality. He is currently the lead presenter for the breakfast talk show on 567 Cape Talk. He spent 23 years working in commercial media in South Africa. As an experienced journalist, he is well known in the broadcasting industry for asking tough questions with a direct approach.

  • Pieter van Reenen - is the founder of SneedApp, a co-founder of One2. He has more than 10 years' experience in various technology roles, including consulting, security, software development and system engineering. He started his first technology business back in 2005 and sold it a few years later. Since then, van Reenan has founded a number of small businesses.
