Motor trade sales up 2.9% in March

Motor trade sales (measured in nominal terms and at current prices) increased by 2.9% year-on-year in March‚ from 3.5% in February Statistics SA reported.

Seasonally adjusted motor trade sales decreased 0.4% between February and March 2014. This followed month-on-month changes of 0.1% in February and 4.8% in January.

Seasonally adjusted motor trade sales increased by 1.7% in the first quarter of this year compared with the same period last year.

Motor trade sales increased by 3.2% in the first quarter of the year compared with the first quarter of last year.
