Dangerous goods are items or substances that could pose a risk to health, safety, property or the environment if not properly handled, stored or transported. This category of products includes flammable items, perfumes, and most products that contain lithium batteries (such as mobile phones or laptops).

They need to be packed properly, handled carefully, and shipped by expert handlers to help ensure they arrive safely at their destination.

"With nearly 30 years of experience in shipping dangerous goods, we provide more options to customers. Shippers can look forward to secure, quick and reliable service for their specialised items to more countries than," said André Bresler, managing director of FedEx Express in Southern Africa.

Dangerous goods can be shipped using the FedEx International Priority (up to 68kg per shipment) or FedEx International Priority Freight (between 68kg to 1,000kg for each freight shipment) shipping solutions.
