Francois van Coke explains: “This show has become a yearly highlight for us and we won’t let the pandemic stop us. I turn 40 on 18 September and I can’t think of a better way to celebrate my birthday than sharing a stage with my friends and to do what I love most.”
Since the first Francois van Coke & Vriende concert kicked off in 2018 at Sun Arena in Pretoria, it quickly became a highlight with Francois’ fans and sells out every year. Last year just under 10,000 people attended the concert.
Francois van Coke & Vriende aren’t just good friends and co-artists, they have also all co-written songs with Van Coke in the past. It has become a tradition for Van Coke to co-write, record and release songs with ‘new’ friends in the build-up to the big event every year.
This year Van Pletzen, Matthew Mole and Tarryn Lamb are the ‘new’ friends. Fans can look forward to two new collaborations with Van Pletzen and Matthew Mole which will be released soon.
