Big Easy golf from Vodacom

The Vodacom Business Origins of Golf is an annual event, which composed of a series of professional golf tournaments where amateur golfers are invited to play with a group of professional golfers. Every year the series has a theme, and this year, in honour of golfing legend and icon, Ernie 'The Big Easy' Els, the theme is "Vodacom Origins goes Easy."

SAIL, now known as Trinergy, is one of the biggest promoters of professional golf in South Africa and manages the series on behalf of Vodacom. Its portfolio also includes the Alfred Dunhill Championship, Telkom PGA Championship, 2010 Joburg Open and others.

The 2010 series of six games in six provinces teed off at the Gardener Ross Golf Estate, Centurion, Johannesburg, on 14-16 April 2010 and will end with the sixth and final tournament on 13-15 October at Oubaai in George.

Last year, the 2009 tour launched its Birdies for Kiddies campaign. For every birdie made by a professional over the course of the entire tournament, Vodacom Foundation donated R500 to a children's charity. This year's beneficiaries will include the "Els for Autism" campaign in South Africa amongst others.
