"Over the past three years there have been exciting developments in the Mother City. These ranged from Cape Town's strengthening position as a business hub to its ever-growing recognition as one of the world's top leisure destinations," said Fouad Caunhye, regional manager for Emirates Southern Africa.

Emirates boosted its services to Cape Town with the introduction of a second daily international flight on 27 March, meaning that local travellers can now enjoy even more choice and convenience when they fly with Emirates to over 111 destinations in 66 countries worldwide.

"Our new double daily service; together with the third anniversary of our Cape Town route, demonstrate our ongoing commitment to this important business and tourism hub," added Caunhye.

Emirates serves Cape Town with an Airbus 340-500 aircraft featuring 12 luxurious First Class private suites, 42 angled lie-flat beds in Business and 204 generously-sized Economy Class seats. Passengers in all classes can enjoy the airline's award-winning ice entertainment system, which features more than 1200 on-demand channels including the latest blockbuster movies, 100 TV channels, more than 500 audio channels, 100 video games plus real time news, sports and business headlines.
