Taking the Road2Rock, come rain or shine

This weekend marks the beginning for the annual Road2Rock event taking place on Saturday, 19 May 2012 at the DKH Estate & Resort, just outside Cape Town. The lineup features Taxi violence, The Plastics, Mr Cat & the Jackal, and more. With organisers promoting a quality experience, expect quality sound, quality lighting, quality visuals and quality bands.
Taking the Road2Rock, come rain or shine

Only 30 mins from Cape Town, the DKH Estate & Resort, with its large green lawns and ample parking, will look to host about 1500 - 2000 guests. The venue opens from 12pm, with first band kicking off at 2pm, and finishing around 10pm. Check out the Road2Rock FB event page for directions.

Mr Gary Cool will be emceeing the event, and the current lineup features Taxi Violence, The Plastics, Wolftown, 7th Son, Reburn, Woodstock Mafia, Wild Eastern Arches, Mr Cat & the Jackal and Andrew James.

Tickets and accomodation

Mainstay will be sponsoring all alcohol to the bands and to the 30 VIP ticket purchasers. VIP guests will have the pleasure of the Mainstay VIP tent, which is also open to bands and the organisers. They will also get a gift bag sponsored by Rolling Stone.

Tickets are available at www.webtickets.co.za and at the entrance on the day, but it is recommended that you purchase tickets online as they are limited. Those who would like to camp over will have access to showers and toilets. Camping costs an additional R50 per tent for the night. An alternate to camping is the Tolkabos Guest House, situated right next to the DKH Estate.

Come rain or shine

Food is to be provided by the estate and will include picnic baskets and various stalls. Alcohol and beverages will also be on sale. No food or beverages are allowed into the venue. Beverages and food are cash only. There will be a stall selling band merchandise including t-shirts and CDs. Ample security for parking and at the campsite is provided; a fee of R20 per car will be charged.

The event will be covered by bedouin tents and will continue irrespective of rain or wind.

Sport on TV: It will be possible to view Saturday afternoon sport in the cinema in the clubhouse at the estate.
