First six months a success for Zando

Now six months old, the new online fashion store, Zando, has seen good growth in the period. With the number of unique customers purchasing growing month on month and the website seeing 200 000 unique visitors a month, it is fast establishing its position as one of the leading e-commerce players in South Africa.
First six months a success for Zando

"While retail growth in South Africa is currently around 6%, online retail growth is more in the region of 30%. It is my belief that the South African market has only begun to scratch the surface of the potential for e-commerce in South Africa," says Manuel Koser, co-founder and MD of Zando.

Its brand offering is expanding and diversifying, having offered 20 local brands at launch to now offering over 300 local and international brands with 8000 styles.

"The increase in our offering is testament to the growth that we are experiencing and has been the result of listening to what our customers want. The denim category has consistently been a high performing category, with dresses following closely behind," says Peter Allerstorfer co-founder and MD.

In support to the growth of the business, investing in human capital is a key focus for the business. "Identifying and retaining talent is vital to the success of our business," says Allerstorfer. "We are encouraged by the success we have experienced in the South African market thus far. This growth has exceeded our expectations and we look forward to the same success and more in the next six months," he concludes.
