25 international buyers confirmed for 2019 Africa Halal Week

This year's Africa Halal Week is less than a month away and preparations are full-steam ahead. There are still limited spaces for exhibitors to be part of this unique trade fair which will take place from 7-9 October at the Cape Town International Convention Centre. Wesgro CEO, Tim Harris encourages companies to take advantage of this opportunity to showcase their products to the world: "Ten local and 25 international buyers have been secured for this year's conference. This is, therefore, a major opportunity for companies to access new markets. We encourage you to make contact with us, and join the more than 50 exhibitors already confirmed."

Buyers will be joining from Mozambique, United States of America, Singapore, Malaysia, Saudi Arabia, and Oman, India the United Kingdom, Kenya, Tanzania, and Ghana.

The more than 50 exhibitors confirmed so far cover a range of sectors, including Islamic banking, modest fashion, film and media promotion, cuisine and investment and trade.

Provincial minister for finance and economic opportunities, David Maynier explained the importance of this conference: "The event presents opportunities for delegates and exhibitors to engage and network in an effort to learn about the global halal economy, while simultaneously creating long-term business relationships. What is exciting about this year’s trade fair is the new diary system which has been introduced to the event. It tracks all exhibitors and matches them to relevant buyers, facilitating strategic meetings and discussions."

"We are very proud of the progress the Africa Halal Week team has made thus far. The halal sector brings great opportunity for our province, and more specifically, in the creation of much-needed jobs for our people."
