Three Webby Awards for M&G Online

NEWSWATCH: The Mail & Guardian Online multi-author editorial blogging platform Thought Leader has been named an official Webby Awards honoree, alongside blogs by CNN, CBS News, The New Yorker, CNBC, The New York Times, Time and the Observer Media Group, blogs M&G Online strategist Vincent Maher. M&G Online photo portal News In Photos was named official honoree in both the Newspaper and the Best Use of Photography categories, alongside The Globe and Mail, The New York Observer, LA Times, Las Vegas Sun, Ogilvy Singapore, 360 Cities, Rolex and more.

Meanwhile, the Forum for Black Journalists (FBJ) has rejected the South African Human Rights Commission' recommendations and will continue to operate as a mutually exclusive organisation, reports IOL.

Internationally, various staff members of 93.6 RAM FM, a Palestinian-licensed radio station broadcasting throughout Israel and Palestine in which Primedia has a 15% stake, are currently under house arrest in Israel, according to the M&G Online. These include South African journalist Mark Klusener.
