The association's governing council appointed these officers at the end of October 2011.
Durodola, who was past vice president of the association, a foremost broadcaster with the Federal Radio Corporation of Nigeria (FRCN) and an alumnus of the Certificate in Media Enterprise (CME4) class, has over 14 years experience working with diverse organisations within the media in Nigeria and West Africa. At the FRCN, she has worked as a news anchor, producer and presenter of interview shows.
She has worked extensively on health, women, children and youth related projects including an appointment as country producer/trainer with UN IRIN RADIO and reporting proceedings at the Beijing Review Conference from the UN Headquarters in New York in 2010.
The new vice president, Bayero Agabi a broadcast journalist, former producer/presenter with the African Independent Television (AIT) and now CEO of Tribes Media graduated from the school's Advanced Writing (AWARES3) programme. Agabi who pioneered ICT reporting on Nigerian television is regarded as Africa's leading ICT broadcast journalist and remains the only African to have won the prestigious UNECA/AISI (United Nations Economic Commission for Africa/Africa Information Society Media Awards) twice for best African ICT reporting, research and local content.
Dan Oshodin, the new secretary, a marketing/media consultant and CEO of TMKG, graduated from the school's Certificate in Digital Design & Communication (CDDC1) programme. Dan holds a BA from the University of Benin, an MBA from the Obafemi Awolowo University and the APCON Diploma in Advertising where he won the Media Link Award for the Best Graduating Student in Media Management in 1996. Oshodin has over twenty years of experience in media planning and management working with leading ad agencies in Nigeria and Ghana.
The new public relations officer, Adetoye Oremosu is a double alumnus of the SMC having graduated from the school's AWARES 1 and the Msc1 class. He is Africa's first citizen ambassador to the United Nations, an author, a public speaker and a radio show host. Oremosu has a first degree in Electrical & Electronics Engineering from the University of Ibadan and has also worked as the school's alumni relations officer.
