Marketing & Media Africa

Social media lessons for Africa

The marketing team behind The Gondwana Collection tourism brand in Namibia really know their social media stuff. Their funny video short mocking US President Donald Trump for this rude comments about Africa and other developing nations, achieved over 670 million views globally and was mentioned in mainstream media all around the world.
I hope they win an award. But it is reward enough to put Namibia on the map for its natural beauty, tourism delights and well run economy - thereby disproving Trump's ill-considered comments. Marketing like this can't be bought and other nation brands can learn a lot from them!
Our annual #BizTrends2018 project has another week to go, before "Trends Month" on Bizcommunity.com ends. Don't miss the new CMO of Ansys, Lebo Madiba, on how business can deal with the rapidly changing digital technology environment; or the CEO of TBWA\Hunt Lascaris, Karabo Denalane, on new conversations in the advertising world around ideas and product innovation.

Have a great week!
Louise Marsland
