Koome Mwambia to exit Ogilvy Kenya

The Board of Ogilvy Kenya has announced that it has accepted Koome Mwambia's decision to take an early exit as CEO and director of the company. In a statement issued by the boards chairman, Bharat Thakrar, the board stated that the decision had been arrived at mutually, after various discussions between the parties.

"The board acknowledges and is grateful to Mwambia's contribution to the business, mostly for his unique entrepreneurial skills and an engaging personality that has particularly played an important role in helping transition the Ogilvy Kenya business during, and post the joint venture consummated between Scangroup and Ogilvy Kenya towards the end of 2010," said Thakrar.

Mwambia remains one of the top 10 shareholders in Scangroup - a company listed on the Nairobi Stock exchange. Thakrar said he would in the coming days communicate the board's transition plans regarding the future leadership in the company.
