East Coast Radio unveils its new on-air line-upEast Coast Radio has tweaked its on-air line-up, with the changes set to kick in on 1 July 2014. The changes reflect East Coast Radio's commitment to empowering more women in a traditionally male-dominated industry. To this effect, Zaba moves into weekday mornings and Carol Ralefeta takes over the reins of the 10am-2pm weekend show. AT Nkosi, Alain Tardin, Zaba, Carol Ralefeta, Bongani Mtolo and Sky Tshabalala The new line-up is also testament to the station's commitment to scouting and developing new talent. Bongani Mtolo takes over 4-6am weekdays and Sky Tshabalala moves into the weekend trainee slot while former apprentices, AT Nkosi and Alain Tardin graduate to bag their own shows! East Coast Radio's passion for local music gets a show of its own, with Abi Ray presenting an entire show dedicated to the best of SA music on Sunday evenings. ECR's Programming Manager, Zane Derbyshire, says, "East Coast Radio has a line-up of very talented presenters who are delivering world class entertainment to our listeners each day. These latest tweaks to our weekday offering is in line with the station's strategy to deliver multi-platform content that is exciting and relevant. Our weekend line-up now offers a fresh listening experience and a place where we 'home-grow' our future stars!" East Coast Breakfast with Darren Maule kicks off your weekday mornings as usual. After Darren and the team get you up and going, Zaba sashays into the 9am to 12pm slot from 1 August. Armed with her trademark energy and enthusiasm, Zaba will make your mornings extra fun; a sort of espresso with an added oomph (add a Zaba-style infectious laugh here)! The self-confessed glam girl will fill you in on the latest lifestyle and entertainment news, with a strong local focus. The rest of the weekday line-up remains unchanged with Jane Linley-Thomas, The Drive With Damon, Abi Ray and Sirshin Moodliar (Trending Tonight) all taking turns to keep you company. Change kicks in at midnight with Alain Tardin hosting the best of the previous day's highlights and Bongani Mtolo hosts 4-6am until East Coast Breakfast with Darren Maule takes over at 6am. The weekend shake-up has Cameron Claassens waking up with the sparrows to host Weekend Breakfast. Carol Ralefeta counts down the hits on Saturdays with The New 40 and she chills with you on Sunday mornings. Wes Reddy slots in from 2-6pm over the weekends. Deon Govender gets you into the mood to party with East Coast Party People from 6 to 10pm on Friday and Saturday evenings. Abi Ray turns on the spotlight on local talent for three hours, from 6 to 9pm on The SA Music Show. The Experiment on Sunday nights sees the station lacing up its adventure boots and trying out new things. We'll push the envelope, we'll innovate, we'll, well experiment.
