Launch of ‘The Olivers' – South Africa's very own BEE Oscars

The search is on for South Africa's most empowered businesses, recognising and celebrating Black Economic Empowerment (BEE) in companies across the country. Now in its seventh year, the Oliver Empowerment Business Awards is inviting empowered organisations in all sectors to submit their credentials for this glittering awards ceremony, set to attract industry titans and aspiring businessmen alike.

Held in association with SA's foremost BEE publication, Impumelelo, the Oliver Empowerment Business Awards seeks to acknowledge the most empowered companies in sectors as diverse as Basic Industries, Cyclical Services, Financials, Education and Information Technology. Drawing some of the nation's most dynamic businesspeople and companies, previous winners of the Awards include First Rand Foundation, MTN Group Ltd, Desmond Tutu and Trevor Manuel, to name a few.

Tahra Sergeant, Events Manager for the prestigious ceremony comments, “Previous years have attracted some of the country's heavyweight BEE players, providing a platform for empowered businesses in the country, and allowing business leaders the chance to interact.”

She continues, “This year should be more exciting and we are expecting over 1500 of South Africa's business elite. Hosted at Gallagher Estate in Midrand, Johannesburg the awards will take place on 28 November 2007 – an essential date on the SA business calendar!”

Nominate your empowered organisation or government entity and acknowledge your business' contributions to Black Economic Empowerment in South Africa. Entries are open until 01 November 2007 and nomination forms available on www.topco.co.za.
