Bloem Show continues to offer value after 127 years

The 2010 Bloem Show took place from 22 April to 1 May and saw an increase of 15% in attendance numbers, with a total of 100 137 visitors flocking to enjoy one of the largest agricultural and commercial exhibitions in the country. Oasys Innovations supplied the infrastructure for the event.

Carl Woodland, Chief Operating Officer for Oasys Exhibitions, expressed delight to be involved with the show yet again. "The Bloem Show is a highlight on the Oasys annual calendar of exhibitions. It is the only show of its kind in the Free State and it is exciting to be a part of its growth and to see the success and experience the show's popularity every year. This year we supplied a total of 3000m2 shell scheme and 5 800m2 of carpeting. We also supplied furniture and electrical infrastructure."

Elmarie Prinsloo, Chief Operating Officer for the Bloem Show says the show continues to grow from strength to strength. "We recorded good attendance and excellent support from all our visitors, exhibitors and agricultural breeders. We are grateful for everyone that contributed to this year's success."

The Bloem Show is seen as one of the biggest shows in the country and covers an area of 34 000m2. Prinsloo is upbeat about the future of the show. "The show is now in its 127th year of existence and this in itself predicts that the show will still be around for thousands to enjoy for many years to come. Considering our provincial population size we measure up to similar shows elsewhere. In fact, per capita our numbers are excellent."

Concludes Woodland, "In the five years that we have been involved with the Bloem Show, we have noticed that the show has become more than an exhibition to the visitors. It has become a culture and a part of the lives visitors, the exhibitors and also those who are involved with planning and organising the show."
